More to whites than meets the eye
White has long been the most important colour in an artist’s palette.
There is just one word which describes the colour white - classy. It adds grace to anything it touches. The colour white has been part of cultures all over the world from times immemorial. In ancient times, white came from lead, with a history dating back to the Ancient Greeks and Egyptians. From European artists to English royalty, from Indian sages to Japanese Geishas, the lead derived pigment has been the first choice for everyone throughout history.
In modern times, lead* has been replaced by new pigments: titanium and zinc white. Despite the evolution of the pigment, the world still appreciates the colour’s simple beauty, with white being the most popular paint choice around the globe.
