Product Description

Aquatech Waterproof Basecoat is an exterior waterproof basecoat that protects exterior walls for 8 years by developing a shield against water damage with its inbuilt polypropylene fiber network. Its unique DampResist Technology can protect against moisture and water damage by providing a protection against a Hydrostatic Pressure of up to 7bars and provides a crack bridging of up to 2mm on walls, thus giving a long-lasting protection.

Application Description

• Clean the side walls properly as per recommendation.
• Apply 1 coat priming of Dulux Weathershield Alkali Bloc primer/Dulux Weathershield Crack Bridging
primer/Dulux Professional Weathershield E1000 Sealer as per recommended dilution or a self-priming
coat of Dulux Aquatech Waterproof Basecoat with 30 % dilution.
• Post Drying apply 1 coat of Dulux Aquatech Waterproof Basecoat without dilution and allow for 6-8hrs of drying.
• Post Drying apply 2 coats of Dulux Weathershield Powerflexx or Dulux Professional WS Flexx or Dulux Weathershield Max or Dulux Professional WS Elastomeric or Dulux Weathershield Protect or Dulux Professional WS E1000, with 20-30 % dilution.
• Please ensure 6-8 hours of drying between the 2 coats. Proper film thickness is essential for the waterproofing. Therefore it is important that Dulux Weathershield Powerflexx or Dulux Professional WS Flexx or Dulux Weathershield Max or Dulux Professional WS Elastomeric or Dulux Weathershield Protect or Dulux Professional WS E1000 Coverage shouldn’t exceed 40-55 sq.ft/Lit.
• If recommended coverage is not achieved additional coat must be applied for desired performance.

Health & Safety

Treatments such as sanding, burning off etc. of paint films may generate hazardous dust and/or fumes. Wet sanding should be used whenever possible. Work in well ventilated areas. Keep out of reach of children. Refer Safety Data Sheet for more details.

Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
    Freshly plastered surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. It is recommended to allow at least 12 weeks for new masonry surfaces.
  • 2. Cleaning
    Clean painting equipment immediately after use and dry
