Duwel Pink Wood Primer

These are solvent-based protective primer for interior wood surfaces that covers the wood grains and provide uniform surface for subsequent paints. It enhances coverage of finish paint besides improving enamel hold out properties.

Step 1 : Surface Preparation

Ensure surface is free from grime, dust and grease. Remove loose or flaking particles. Sand the surface by using Emery Paper [No.180] and wipe clean.

Step 2 : Application process

Once the wooden surface is dry and smooth. prime with a coat of ICI Wood primer. Available in “Ready For Use" form for brushing. Add up to 10% by Volume of lCl Dulux Thinner (61-33) to primer for conventional spray application. Allow it to dry for 4to 6 hours after application. Fill up minor cracks and defects with KP filler or an equivalent good quality solvent-based putty after applying first coat of primer. Allow putty to cut dry. Then apply second coat of primer on the puttied surface and allow to dry for 4 to 6 hours. Before application of topcoat, do light sanding with Emery paper{No.320) and wipe clean.

Step 3 : Drying time
ICI wood primer is normally surface dry in 30 min & recoatable after 4 hrs. under standard drying conditions (25 deg C & 50% Relative Humidity with good ventilation). Drying time will vary depending on the Climatic conditions.
