Tips & Advice
Preparing the Surfaces
Freshly plastered surface must be allowed to cure completely. It is recommended to allow at least 12 as the curing time for new masonary surfaces. Please ensure pH level between 7 and 9 before painting.Ensure surface is thoroughly clean , dry and free from all loose dirt, chalk, grease, fungi, algae and flaking paint. This can be achieved by brushing with a wire coir brush, followed by a water jetting if required. If after thoroughly cleaning the surface it still exhibit chalkiness the surface should be coated with Dulux Weathershield Alkali Bloc Primer or Duwel Exterior Primer. For areas severely affected by algae or fungus, application of pre-treatment coat is recommended. Fill up all minor cracks and defects with cement and sand mixture in the ratio 1:3. Avoid application of putty or filling compound. Weathershield Flash should not be applied to the surfaces or substrates which are exposed to continuous seepage or dampness. For best adhesion performance, the moisture content in the wall should not exceed 10%.
